 SIGMA is the GREEK LETTER used in Mathematics TO SUM

 

We will need to use standard formulae, some of which are found in the formula booklet of the WJEC.

The formulae are:

\sum_{r=1}^n 1=n
\sum_{r=1}^n r=\frac{1}{2} n(n+1)
\sum_{r=1}^n r^2=\frac{1}{6}n\left(n+1\right)\left(2n+1\right)
\sum_{r=1}^n r^3=\frac{1}{4}n^2\left(n+1\right)^2

Message received. Will work on it. Why dont you consider doing a past paper question yourself, scan it and upload it. If there is any problem then we can attempt to put it right.
